What We Believe

We believe:

• That there is one true and living God.
• That God has revealed himself to us throughout history, through his plan for our salvation.  He has revealed himself fully in Jesus Christ.
• That the Bible is God's Word, His record of self revelation, inspired by God and is our ultimate authority in all matters of doctrine or practice.
• That the one God is in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• That Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, who became a man for us: fully God and yet also fully human.
• That the life, death and resurrection of Jesus are actual historical events.
• That the death of Jesus was for us, he died to take the punishment we deserve so that having been forgiven we are made right with God.
• That death could not hold Jesus down, God raised him from the dead physically and has made him the Lord and judge of the whole earth.
• That everyone has to give an account to Jesus who knows the secrets of our hearts and will judge fairly and justly.
• That those who believe and trust in Jesus will be saved to eternal life and saved from everlasting punishment.
• That a right response to this gift of salvation is to turn from living for self and to live wholeheartedly for Jesus.
• That each Christian is given the gift of the Holy Spirit to teach, remind, counsel, and guide them through life, and to produce the sort of fruitful life that comes from being connected with Christ.
• That Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour and everything we do should be God honouring, Christ centred, Spirit empowered and Bible focused.
