Link Missionaries
As a mission-minded church, Gungahlin supports the work of mission organisations throughout Australia and the world. One of the ways we do this is by establishing support
relationships with missionaries who are working in the field to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Gungahlin currently has links with 3 missionary families, working for the Church Missionary Society (CMS) and Bush Church Aid Society (BCA). |
|
CMS-Australia
The Church Missionary Society-Australia (CMS) is a missionary sending agency, working in partnership with local churches both
here in Australia and all over the world. They currently have 192 missionaries serving in over 35 countries. CMS is an evangelical, voluntary, lay, church society committed to
proclaiming life through Christ. Our CMS link missionaries are Malcolm and Elizabeth Richards, and Rob and
Arabelle Horne.
You can financially support CMS either through directly contacting them or giving in a marked envelope in the church collection.

Gary and Nikki Alexander - serving in Kunnanurra, North West Australia with BCA |
 |
Gary is the Rector at St James Kununurra. While Kununurra is base-camp for Gary and Nikki Alexander’s ministry, Gary also holds regular services at Wyndham and monthly
services at Oombulgurri (which they fly to).
"Kununurra is an exciting hub for ministry," says Gary. "We seek to reach out into our community as a unified body of Christ, often sharing in outreach with the other churches
in town." He also says they've been greatly blessed by a number of BCA Co-Workers in the area. |

Malcolm and Elizabeth Richards - home from serving in Kindu, D.R. of Congo with CMS |
 |
Our previous minister Malcolm and his wife Elizabeth returned to the central African nation of the DR Congo in September 2005. They returned to a nation that had been at war
for nearly 10 years. There is little or no infrastructure, and church family and community life have been severely disrupted. Malcolm and Elizabeth were working in the Diocese of Kindu, with Bishop Masimango using their ministry and social work skills
to train clergy and parish workers in Kindu Diocese.
Malcolm and Elizabeth have recently returned to Australia where Malcolm will take up a position working for CMS-NSW - Please pray for them as they endeavour to
settle back into life in Australia. |
