Our Team

The Gungahlin Anglican Church ministry team consists of three ministers (a Senior Minister, an Associate Minister and an Assistant Minister), a part-time Children and Families worker, as well as many volunteers who work within the various ministries.

In addition, we have a Parish Council made up of three Wardens and six Parish Councillors.

E-mail Andrew Taylor

Andrew and his wife Michelle have four children. Originally from Bega, Andrew studied in Armidale then worked in Canberra and Sydney for St George Bank, before starting Theological study at SMBC (Sydney Missionary and Bible College)

Andrew was ordained into the Armidale Diocese in December 2001. He spent 2 years as the Assistant Minister in Gunnedah, then 4 years as the Vicar of the Cockburn Valley (Kootingal/Moonbi), just north of Tamworth. Andrew and his family moved back to Canberra at the beginning of 2008 to take up the position of Associate Minister with Gungahlin Anglican Church, and now Senior minister since late 2017. Andrew loves being part of Gungahlin Anglican with its enthusiastic people.

Andrew currently serves (Army Reserve) as part of the Chaplaincy team at the Australian Defence force Academy.

Andrew loves eating pizza, watching DVDs and is continually amazed at the impact Jesus has on the lives of people through history and today! He is challenged by Jesus call to Love God and Love people (Matt 22:34-40).

Tim Hall

Tim Hall

Assistant Minister
E-mail Tim Hall

Tim grew up in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, where he worked in the building industry after leaving school. After many years building, Tim did a ministry internship at a church in Port Stephens where he met his wife Fiona, and he’s never looked back since (in respect to both ministry and Fiona!). Tim has worked in several churches, mostly in youth ministry, before studying theology at Sydney Missionary Bible College (2013-2015).

Tim has been married to Fiona since 2005, and they have five children.

Tim loves to moonlight as a singer/songwriter, and enjoys recording and producing music in his garage. He also enjoys running, a good cup of coffee, and seeing how God’s grace changes people’s lives.

Tracey Jacob

Children and Families Worker
E-mail Tracey Jacob

Tracey grew up in Tamworth, studied in Armidale and taught Special Education for ten years in Gunnedah. She studied at SMBC (Sydney Missionary & Bible College) to complete a Diploma of Theology in 2005 and 2006.

Tracey has lived in Canberra since the beginning of 2007, working as a Chaplain at Burgmann Anglican School and for Gungahlin Anglican Church as our Children and Families Worker.

Tracey enjoys photography, dragon boat racing and various styles of dancing including Bollywood and swing.

Byron Steele

Byron Steele

Assistant Minister

A currently serving member of the Australian Defence Force, Byron joined the team in 2021 as a Curate, working with Gungahlin Anglican Church for two years as part of his preparation for service as a Chaplain in the Royal Australian Navy.

Growing up in the Tuggeranong Valley in the 1980s, Byron moved back to Canberra in 2018 with his wife Meredith and their two sons prior to completing a Bachelor of Theology at St Mark’s National Theological Centre in Barton.

With a denominationally diverse background due to his parent’s ministry, Byron has been involved in church music since his teens. This developed into gaining experience in a wide variety of church roles including youth group, music team leadership, public event coordination, various committees and Parish Council. He looks forward to expanding both his experience and his skills while working with Gungahlin Anglican Church.

Byron enjoys keeping fit by walking, running and training in the martial arts, or relaxing with an interesting book or an action movie. He is passionate about seeing people experience a personal relationship with God.
